More often than not, the characters have so inappropriate voices you facepalm yourself so hard you get a concussion.Ĥ. While the Japanese pride themselves in their work of voice acting, other countries doesn't seem to give a shit. "ITS ZORO YOU DIMWIT!" At least use the originally intended name for the character.

I want to seriously rip people apart when they come to an anime forum and say, as an example: "ZOLO RULES!!!" (Props to whoever knows what this is about ) Now this is one of my biggest pet peeves. The characters get new names that fit the country the anime gets aired in. (Alternatively the joke get rewritten to something lame that ruins the mood/situation.)Ģ. Obviously there are pros and cons with dubbing, more cons in my opinion.ġ. Why do they do this? I would assume its because not everyone have a good grasp of reading subs fast enough, plus ze kiddies wouldn't be able to follow. I couldn't watch an originally Norwegian show dubbed into English either, it would still sound wrong. I like for the anime/movie/tv-series I watch to be in its intended language. I seriously cannot STAND dubbing of anime, neither in English/American nor my own language.
